Missing Chibok Girls and Police Ban

The #BringBackOurGirls campaign is still on as long as our girls are still held by the Boko Haram terrorists. But the tempo seems to be slowing down with this threat  from Mr. Joseph Mbu, the FCT Commissioner of Police announcing arrest for  protesters in Abuja as public protests on streets have been banned.  Its saddening that the Police  Force that was supposed to keep these girls safe in the first instance is the one threatening to lock people up for daring to cry out that they failed and the girls should be rescued.

There is a saying by Pope John XXIII  " Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do."
The girls have been abducted for almost 2 months now and we are very hopeful that the girls would be rescued no matter the frustrations and the challenges we are encountering in the process of rescuing these girls and many more that were abducted before them.

Why would an organisation that was supposed to protect the people now come out to ban protests connected with efforts to secure the release of these girls? The Pope words say..." Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do". We failed to protect, so we are not concerning ourselves with that failure but with what we can possibly do to bring back these girls. The only way we as citizens can go about it is in campaigning for the release as we cannot carry guns and go into Sambisa forests to rescue the girls and other kidnapped people.

By the way it is our fundamental Human Right to  protest and campaign for change. It is also our right to ask for good governance and government prompt response to issues that affect our peace as individuals and as a Nation. Anyway, Joseph Mbu is displaying his treachery and evil mind for all to see. These are the evil acts that he unleashed on the Governor of Rivers State, the Legislators and the people of the State when he was the Commissioner of Police there. Is Joseph Mbu not ashamed that the Police could not live up to the expectation of the people in protecting lives? The man is always acting as if he is above the law and does not get instruction from his bosses but from the Presidency. I hope the Police High Command and the Inspector General will not be insensitive as  Mbu.

I still believe that if our security forces including Police Force had reacted immediately by the next day of the abduction of those school girls, they would have been rescued. The girls that escaped told us that one of their vehicles broke down and they were held in a house in one of those villages till the vehicle was fixed. So if the rescue operation had commenced immediately, we would have rescued them and even captured the terrorists.

This is an appeal to the terrorists to please release these innocent children. It is such a huge price to pay for wanting to get education. It is only through education that development can come to any community. If they don't want to be educated and want to live in the dark ages, its okay but they should not force others to do the same. I cannot just begin to imagine what the girls are going through for the past 8 weeks. Oh LORD deliver these girls.

Our God fights for HIMSELF. He does not need any one to fight on His behalf as He is a MAN OF WAR. No man should fight God's battle. If truly they are fighting for God, then they don't  know God. He is the Almighty, the mighty MAN in Battle.  How can a created being fight for the CREATOR?
